The underwater environment is very different from everything we are used to above water. A multitude of colours, shapes, swimming patterns and behaviours meet us when we dive along a reef. To most people, all the different shapes and colours of coral and fish beg an explanation. Differences in behaviour between different fishes, as well as obvious differences in where you find different reef creatures usually also are questions that come to mind. But how do you take the first step in understanding this fascinating world under the surface?

Now you have a chance of getting a head start in understanding underwater ecology. Emperor Divers now launch Eco-dive safaris. On Eco-dive safaris we will explore the underwater world in lectures as well as during dives. Subjects will be Corals and coral reef ecology, Fish and fish ecology, Symbiosis, Sex on reefs, Sharks and marine mammals as well as Reef conservation. Typically, an Eco-dive safari day will include one lecture, three dives focused on the subject of the talk of the day, and, finally, an informal evening picture show with a discussion session. The lectures will be held at an introductory level and questions will be most welcome. The pace of dives will be relaxed and at moderate depths, as most of the interactions and many of the animals we study will not be noticed during standard diving speeds. Apart from being optimal for studying details on the reef, this pace also fits the need of uw-photographers, which makes it a great chance for photographers to combine a course on underwater ecosystems with photography. So, if you want to learn about underwater ecology while still enjoying a relaxed vacation, join us for our Eco-safaris.

Now you have a chance to join Bent Christensen (PhD in Aquatic Ecology and uw-photographer) and Peter Bergquist (PADI Instructor and uw-photographer) onboard M/Y Emperor Asmaa for a week long Eco-dive Safari at four different dates during 2007.

Interesting proposition. Would be nice to know something about standard which represents M/Y Emperor Asmaa.... maybe some photos of a boat?
Frankly speaking within proposed price you can easily find offers inculding flight tickets - Warsaw-Hurghada-Warsaw for example...
Planned dive sites are worth to explore indeed.

Janek

Let's be really frank - it's not f...ing cheap. Standard Polish safari is ca. 700 euro

300 euro extra ..
I could consider it as a fee for the UW photo/Aquatic eco workshop ... but not yet ... Mr. Green

Well, I do really like the itinery. sunny
Wish some you nice dives.

I don't think you would find any safari for 700 euro that includes eco-dive and/or uw-photo workshops.

It will be 1 to 3 eco seminars each day depending on the route and weather.

I will supply you with some pictures of the boat tomorrow since I'm sitting on a borrowed computer right now.

Regards

Peter
